Prayer Minsistries

Eucharistic Adoration: Every Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. the Blessed Sacrament is exposed for private prayer and adoration in the Adoration Chapel at Church. We invite everyone to consider making a commitment to spending an hour or 1/2 hour a month in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament. A holy hour is held from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. each Tuesday which usually includes the recitation of the Rosary, scripture and community prayers. Sign up forms are available in the kiosk in the gathering space and can be returned in the collection basket. For more information, contact the church office.

ACTS Retreat: The ACTS retreat (Adoration, Community, Theology, Service) is a weekend, lay-run retreat that is patterned after the description of the early church in the ACTS of the Apostles (ACTS 2:42-47). An ACTS weekend is designed to help the retreatants enter into a new or deeper relationship with our Lord and fellow parishioners. This is accomplished through Adoration and daily prayer, the call to Community in our parish as a member of the Body of Christ, and Theology in encouraging the study of scripture and our Catholic Faith, all of which emphasize and encourage the virtue of Service to our Lord, our parish, and one another.

Prayer Shawl Ministry: We take the love of knitting and crocheting and combine it with a blessing of shawls at Mass as a physical representation of the prayers of the parish for those in need.  Shawls are made and distributed as a way to bring God’s love, comfort and peace to those who are suffering.  Anyone can be a part of this ministry.  Those who are unable to create a shawl can assist by delivering shawls to the recipients, by attaching a decade of the Rosary and patches to the shawls, helping with the blessing of shawls at Mass, or offering prayers for the makers and recipient.

Monday Morning Meditation:  Everyone is welcome!  Silence begins in the Fr. Steve Library at 7 am.  Walk in, silently reflect on the Psalm or verse of the day on display, and take part in silence, concentrating on breathing and clearing your mind and heart to make way for God.  A chime sounds at 7:20 and 7:40 for people who have to get on their way to work or Mass.  If you would like more information/discussion about silent, contemplative meditation, talk about it with Lizanne Young anytime.
